Glanville Cleansing has now been running for twenty- five years; its roots are however somewhat different to the company today. The company first operated as a one man business utilizing a single tractor and tanker, working locally within a 15 mile radius of Plymouth. The first tanker was bought five years after Glanville Cleansing was established, which allowed the company to broaden its working perimeter. Our main office is based in Yelverton. As the company expanded, David Glanville was able to purchase his second lorry and employ his first member of staff, Jeanette Glanville. Together they worked to expand and develop the services that Glanville Cleansing offered, which soon extended to drain repairs and jetting. As the company expanded financially, and the number of both Lorries and employees grew, Glanville Cleansing was able to purchase some of their own jetting equipment. This opened up their potential markets significantly and facilitated the company growth into how it stands today. Glanville Cleansing now offers service to the whole of the South West; we operate from coast to coast, stretching all the way to Bristol. Glanville Cleansing now works with Southwest Highways and both West Devon and South West Borough Council and South West Water plus various other contractors in the southwest. We have recently purchased a treatment works at Lee Mill where we can treat our waste in both an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. The post will also act as an additional location to keep our Lorries and tankers which not only lessen the concentration of traffic in the Yelverton area but also allow us to operate more responsively and efficiently. Additionally the post will allow us to conserve fuel and save time and consequently we plan to extend further in the future. This will allow us to widen the business’ working perimeters as well as allowing Glanville Cleansing to become a more environmentally and residentially friendly company. |
